GLARE HURRICANE PREMIUM PROFESSIONAL BUFFING PADS INSTRUCTIONS

Congratulations on choosing the most advanced buffing system ever developed. With new technological developments in foam construction GLARE HURRICANE Premium Professional Buffing Pads takes advantage of Aero-Cell Reticulated Foam Technology. This new Foam Construction allows for maximum amounts of air flow to the surface which creates an air cushion for a Constant Floating Contact and also helps reduce over heating paint caused by friction in High RPM situations. With a patented Dual Beveled Edge Design, which is also essential in creating a Constant Floating Contact, there is a huge improvement in Controllability and Stability.

As opposed to a flat pad which dilutes pressure across the entire pad, a Dual Beveled Edge design concentrates working pressure from the contact area of the Pad directly to the Surface creating far superior results with less effort and in a shorter amount of time which is not available with any other buffing pad in the worlds market. Less work means you can now concentrate on a Perfect GLARE Finish and GLARE HURRICANE PREMIUM PROFESSIONAL BUFFING PADS together with GLARE PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS delivers perfection every time.

This Exclusive Design also eliminates splatter, and allows buffing curved surfaces and around objects as well as for buffing in tight spaces.

Also, each of the HURRICANE PREMIUM PROFESSIONAL BUFFING PADS were specifically designed to work with each of the GLARE PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS in the GLARE System so each pad goes together with its intended product like Ham and Cheese! Each GLARE HURRICANE BUFFING PAD is marked and numbered so there is no guess work in figuring out which pad to use in each step as well as which GLARE product that is to be used with each individual pad. It’s literally as simple as 1, 2, 3. This is the world’s finest and most exclusive buffing system ever developed and worthy of the GLARE name. The Storm of the Century is here!!!

Directions

Always thoroughly wash and dry vehicle before applying any products to its exterior. Failure to do so may result in scratches to the paint due to dirt being buffed into the paint. Do not use Household soaps or detergents or washes that may have any type of wax in the formulation as this will affect the chemical reactivity of the Glassplexin. We recommend using GLARE Ultra Wash, which is safe on all vehicles’ finishes.

After washing and drying your vehicle you must inspect and make a condition assessment of your paint. There are 4 different situations as follows: Extremely Poor Condition, Poor Condition, Fair Condition, and Good Condition. You may also take a Gloss Reading with an Electronic Gloss Checker, or if one is not available simply try and make out images of the reflection in the paint. Standing in front of the door panel while trying to see details such as stitching in your jeans is a good way to test the Reflective Gloss using your naked eye if no Gloss Checker is available. You will also inspect the paint for levels of oxidation (dead paint which appears cloudy or hazy), scratches, stains and blemishes caused from contaminates on the road and in the environment such as but not limited to water spot damage, overspray, road tar, bird dropping damage, bugs, tree sap, etc.

Paint in Extremely Poor Condition will have a Gloss Checker Reading well under 60. The paint will have extremely heavy levels of oxidation causing the finish to appear Cloudy or Milky and perhaps even completely discolored in some areas particularly in areas that receive the most sunlight (i.e. the trunk, the roof the hood). The paint may be so oxidized in fact that the primer may be showing through in the worse spots. In this case the levels of oxidation are so severe that the vehicle will need the paint to be stripped and re painted by a professional Paint or Auto Body Shop. This is a situation where the Paint is almost entirely destroyed and beyond repair and there is nothing left to do except to repaint.

Paint in Poor Condition will have a Gloss Checker reading of between 60 and 70. The paint will have heavy levels of oxidation along with higher levels of Scratches when compared to paints in Fair and Good Condition. There may also be portions of paint that appear cloudy or milky but never entirely discolored to the point where the original color is not identifiable. In this case you will go through ALL the steps starting from the pre-buffing phase which is the Claying step done always by hand, then proceeding to the buffing phase by hand or machine starting with step: #1 GLARE Knockout all the way to the final step: #5 GLARE Professional Polish. So it will be Liqui-Clay, followed by Step: #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5 when paint is in Poor Condition.

Paint in Fair Condition will have a Gloss Checker Reading of between 70 and 80. The paint will have moderate levels of oxidation along with moderate levels of scratches, which are small to medium in size. There might be some level of fading throughout the paint but this will appear more as a light haze and not as the heavy cloudiness as described for Paint in Poor Condition. In this case you will start with the Liqui-Clay in the pre-buffing phase and then proceed to the buffing phase starting this time with step: #2 GLARE Micro-Finish all the way to step: #5 GLARE Professional Polish. You will Omit Step: #1 GLARE Knockout because that step will not be needed when paint is in Fair Condition. So it will be Clay, followed by Step: #2, #3, #4, and #5 when paint is in Fair Condition.

Paint in Good Condition will have a Gloss Checker Reading of 80 and up. The paint will have very light levels of oxidation if at all visible, along with the smallest of scratches. The scratches may be so small in fact that you may not even be able to see them unless the vehicle is in direct sunlight. These small scratches may appear to follow a circular motion and look like spider webs or swirl marks in the paint, hence the term often used by professional painters and detailers “Spider Webbing.” In this case you will start with the pre-buffing phase where the Liqui-Clay will be an option. You may opt to Clay if the paint feels rough to the touch or opt not to Clay if the paint feels smooth. You will then proceed to the buffing phase starting with step: #3 GLARE Spider all the way to step #5 GLARE Professional Polish. You will Omit Steps: #1 and #2 because those steps are not needed when paint is in Good Condition. So it will be Clay (optional here), followed by Step: #3, #4, and #5 when paint is in Good Condition.

Vehicles which have just been freshly painted and cured may first need to be color sanded before beginning the Buffing Process. Although color sanding has been a widely adopted practice after painting and prior to buffing, GLARE Professional Products are designed to keep the necessity of color sanding to a very minimum. The smoothness of the freshly cured paint based on the quality of job done by the painter will determine whether or not color sanding is necessary. Also the amount of airborne particles which may have adhered to the curing paint will determine any kind of color sanding as well. Whether or not color sanding is performed will depend on the degree of blemishes and imperfections which may appear as ripples, orange peel, or fish eye on freshly cured paint. This would also determine the degree of Color Sanding involved, if at all necessary, which would be done before the buffing phase.

If Color Sanding was performed prior to buffing then you would start on Step: #1 GLARE Knockout during the buffing phase and then proceed directly to Step: #2, 3, 4, and 5.

Your final coat of GLARE Professional Polish in any of the situations described will always be applied by hand and this time you will include the windows, windshield, mirrors, headlights, break lenses, chrome, emblems and anything and everything that you want to look Shiny and be protected. (Do not include rubber, vinyl, or any type of soft or porous materials. For these items we recommend using GLARE Vinyl and Leather All Weather Protectant or GLARE Tire Magic with Supplexin.) This coat will be a thin coat applied by hand with a clean terry cloth. You will not buff the product in until it disappears but you will allow it to dry to a haze (about 5 mins). Once dry you may proceed to buff off all excess product and you are done!!! The Glassplexin’s molecular Bonding Process takes 24 hours to cure after you have completed the last step. Do not allow the vehicle to become wet during this 24 hour period.

For Chrome and Aluminum with higher degrees of oxidation you may want to substitute using GLARE Professional Polish for GLARE Micro-Finish.

When using GLARE Hurricane Premium Professional Buffing Pads along with a high speed machine buffer it is important to follow some safety precautions. Always wear safety Goggles and do not have any type of loose clothing, hair, jewelry, or articles that can become entangled in high speed equipment. Also, always keep hands and fingers clear of the rotating wheel which spins at High RPM’s and can cause bodily harm so always use caution when operating High RPM equipment. In any situation, always start buffing at a low RPM setting and slowly work your way up. Do not Exceed 2,000 RPM’s. Excessive Buffer speed may cause the paint to super heat, burning the paint, so also use caution when raising the buffer speed. Use small amounts of product at a time to avoid over saturation and slinging of excess product. GLARE Professional Products are Ultra Concentrated so apply small amounts of product at time (about one 3” ribbon per one square foot area). Remember a little bit of GLARE goes a long way. Do not allow the buffer to hover over a single spot for prolonged durations. This can also cause the paint to super heat, burning and damaging the paint so keep the buffer constantly moving in a fluid back and forth motion. Also do not apply any pressure to the buffer. This added pressure will transcend to the surface of the paint and could also cause super heating and burning of the paint. Simply allow the weight of the machine buffer to naturally cause enough pressure without adding any of your own. Using the Buffers own weight will also allow the Buffer to float back and forth more smoothly as well. GLARE Hurricane Premium Professional Buffing Pads can be washed and reused. To extend the life of your Pads we recommend using a Solution of Water and GLARE Ultra Wash in a bucket for easy cleaning of your GLARE Hurricane Buffing Pads.
